These terms govern your use of jesed.dev and any services provided by Jesed Valenzuela. By engaging my services, you agree to these terms. I keep them straightforward because clear communication is how I work — no surprises, no fine print designed to trap you.
I provide custom software development, consulting, and technical services across the full stack:
Every engagement is defined by a written scope, timeline, and pricing structure — whether fixed-fee or hourly. Nothing starts without mutual agreement on what's being built and when it's done.
Upon full payment, all code, designs, and deliverables created specifically for your project are yours. I retain no rights, liens, or claims over your intellectual property. The exception is any pre-existing libraries, tooling, or frameworks I bring to the project — those remain governed by their respective open-source or commercial licenses. I never hold your code hostage. When the project is paid, it's yours.
Security is not an add-on — it's fundamental to how I build. When we work together:
All projects are scoped and priced upfront. I offer fixed-fee pricing for defined-scope projects and hourly billing for consulting, audits, and ongoing work. Payment terms are agreed upon before work begins. For larger projects, milestone-based invoicing is available to keep everything aligned and transparent. That said, I don't build my practice around payment clauses — I build it around trust. I love what I do: solving problems, growing businesses, and delivering work that speaks for itself. I'm here because I genuinely enjoy using technology to make things better. If you trust me with your project, I'll treat it with the same care I'd give my own.

I build with care, test thoroughly, and stand behind my work. However, software is complex and no system is immune to every risk. My liability is limited to the fees paid for the specific engagement in question. I carry professional liability coverage and I'm happy to discuss additional protections for enterprise or high-stakes projects.
These terms may be updated as my practice evolves. The latest version will always be posted here with the effective date. For active client engagements, the terms agreed upon at the start of the project remain in effect unless both parties agree to changes in writing.
